FIRE planning, not just forecasting

Monarch's Plus tier ($199/year) added forecasting with life-event modelling and what-if scenarios. That is useful for general planning. But it is a deterministic projection: a single line extending your current behaviour into the future. There is no Monte Carlo simulation testing thousands of market scenarios, no historical backtesting, and no probability-of-success scoring.

Endute's FIRE module is purpose-built for financial independence. Multi-phase plans (accumulation, semi-retirement, full retirement), Monte Carlo across thousands of randomised scenarios, backtesting against the Shiller dataset, and an interactive what-if explorer that shows how each variable affects your FI date. If you are planning to retire early, the depth difference matters.

Beyond North America

Monarch connects to 13,000+ US and Canadian institutions. If you live in the US and bank in the US, that is plenty. But there are no UK banks, no EU banks, and no Open Banking connections. Multi-currency support does not exist: everything displays in USD or CAD with no conversion.

Endute connects to banks across the UK, EU, US, and Canada via Open Banking providers. It supports 150+ currencies with automatic daily FX conversion. If you have a current account in London and a brokerage in New York, both appear on the same dashboard in your chosen reporting currency.

Investment analytics beyond balances

Monarch's Core tier shows investment account balances, holdings, and historical returns. The Plus tier adds Morningstar-powered fund analysis with diversification and risk scoring, plus gains and losses with cost basis. That is a meaningful upgrade for US investors.

Endute takes a different approach. Portfolio performance is calculated with Time-Weighted and Money-Weighted Returns, compared against benchmarks you choose, and valued across currencies automatically. Dividend tracking and a full transaction history per security are included for every user, not reserved for a premium tier. Morningstar X-Ray is not something we offer, but the core analytics that most investors need are included at base price.

Everything in one tier, no Plus upsell

Monarch Core is $99.99/year. The forecasting, Morningstar fund analysis, and business tools live in Plus at $199/year, so the planning features many people are looking for sit behind the higher tier.

Endute is £69.99/year with everything in a single plan: investment analytics, FIRE planning with Monte Carlo and backtesting, multi-currency, and every report, with no second tier to climb. Both are subscription-funded with no ads, and both offer full-access trials (Monarch 7 days, Endute 37). Where Monarch is built around US households, Endute is built around breadth: more of the financial picture, across more countries, with nothing held back for a premium plan.
