Deleting your account

No email to support, no retention call. Deletion is self-serve, complete, and slightly delayed on purpose.

How it works

On My Account, under Account Deletion, click Delete my account and confirm. Deletion is then scheduled with a 72-hour grace period: you get an email with a cancellation link, and a Cancel deletion button appears on My Account until the deletion runs. The delay exists because this is the one action in the product we cannot undo for you, and a heated evening should not be able to erase years of records before a calmer morning. (Corporate-plan accounts are the one exception to self-serve: they are managed with your employer, so start with support.)

What gets deleted, and what it costs

  • After the grace period, your data is permanently removed in line with GDPR's right to be forgotten: bank connections, bank records and attachments are deleted outright, and anything that remains is irreversibly anonymised, stripped of everything that identifies you. There is no recovery afterwards, by you or by us.
  • A Stripe subscription is cancelled as part of deletion. If your first payment was within the last 14 days we refund it; otherwise the remaining period is not refunded.
  • A free trial simply ends; there is nothing to cancel.

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google; only your store settings can do that. Cancel it there first, or the store will keep charging you for an account that no longer exists.

Before you go

Export your data first; the ZIP is yours to keep and takes a minute. And if the reason for leaving is something we got wrong, we would genuinely rather hear it through support than lose you silently. Quite a few of the guides in this help centre exist because someone told us on the way out.
