Financial independence is a number and a date. This is the workbench for finding yours, stress-testing included.

Starting out

FIRE Planning in the sidebar (currently in beta, web only) opens with a wizard that builds your first plan: you choose which accounts fund it, optionally seed the spending baseline from your current budget, and set your assumptions about returns, inflation and the retirement you actually want. The output is the FIRE pair: the portfolio size at which work becomes optional, and the year your current trajectory reaches it.

The views

  • Dashboard: the landing view, your FIRE numbers at a glance.
  • Plan: your assumptions, editable in one place, the single source every other view reads.
  • Projection: the deterministic path, your trajectory if the average happens every year.
  • Monte Carlo: thousands of randomised market sequences, turning "when" into a probability curve. The average never happens every year; this view prices that in.
  • Backtest: your plan replayed through real historical market runs, including the ugly ones.
  • Sensitivity: which assumption moves your date most, usually a persuasive argument about savings rate versus returns.
  • Monitoring: plan versus reality as months pass, the view that keeps the plan alive after the excitement fades.
  • Versions: your plan's history, so old versions remain to show how your thinking moved.

A What-If explorer rounds it out: scenarios can be compared without destroying the plan you believe in.

Plans built on your real data

The suite's advantage over every FIRE spreadsheet is that its inputs are not estimates of your behaviour, they are your behaviour: real spending, real saving, real net worth, updating as you live. The assumptions stay yours to set; the baseline stops being guesswork.
