Syncing brokerage accounts

The investment counterpart to bank connections: holdings and activity, imported instead of typed. In beta, and labelled as such.

Connecting a brokerage

From Manage Connections, the Link Investments button (marked Beta) starts the flow: Connect a brokerage takes you to a secure page to choose yours and authorise read-only access. Your credentials are never shared with or stored by Endute, and read-only means exactly that; nothing connected here can move your money. Afterwards, map each brokerage account to an Endute investment account, creating new ones or linking existing, just like bank mapping.

Some brokers take a day to hand over

A few brokerages prepare account data slowly on their side; when that happens the connection shows Retrieving your accounts and notes it can take up to 24 hours. Endute messages you when the accounts are ready to map, so connecting and walking away is the correct move, not a failure.

What syncing brings

  • Holdings and their quantities, kept current as you trade.
  • Cash balances and account activity, feeding the same Holdings, Security Activity and Cash tabs manual accounts use.
  • A Last synced timestamp on the connection card, so freshness is never a guess.

New brokerage accounts appearing later show a New account ready banner on the connection, waiting for mapping; nothing is imported into accounts you have not set up.

Reconnecting and disconnecting

The connection card offers Map Accounts, Reconnect for when a brokerage session expires, and Disconnect. Disconnecting stops the syncing and nothing else: your mapped investment accounts keep all their existing data and revert to manual updates, the same data-preservation promise bank connections make.

On the beta label

Brokerage data is messier than bank data, and coverage varies by broker and account type; some instruments and edge cases still reconcile imperfectly. The label is there because we would rather flag the rough edges than have you find them. If your numbers disagree with your broker's, tell us with the account and the figure; these reports drive real fixes.

What next

Synced or manual, the portfolio mechanics are the same; the portfolio guide covers holdings, prices and performance.
