The reports tour

Each report answers one question well. Knowing which is which saves the scenic route.

The twelve standard reports

Account Balance ReportHow has each account moved?
Debt Overview ReportWhat do I owe, and how is it trending?

All twelve live in the sidebar's Reports panel under Standard Reports, and each opens a full page with filters and date ranges, most of them chart-led; Detailed Transactions is deliberately a table, built for export rather than plotting.

Two families, one difference worth knowing

Most reports aggregate transactions, and a closed account's history stays in them forever; closing an account never rewrites the months it participated in. The three balance-based reports, Net Worth Trend, Account Balance and Debt Overview, are snapshots over time instead, and they include a closed account only up to its closure date, which is exactly when it stopped having a balance worth plotting.

Custom reports

Any report's filter combination can be kept: set it up, click Save As... (a few pages spell it Save Report As...), name it, and it appears in the sidebar under Custom Reports for one-click return; the sidebar lists the first ten. The monthly ritual views, this quarter's spending in euros, the holiday-tagged expenses, earn their place here.

If a number surprises you

On Spending by Category, Spending by Payee and the Needs, Wants, Savings view, headline figures open up: click one and the transactions behind it appear. The companion guide on filters and drilling down covers it; surprise-to-explanation is usually two clicks.

What next

Reports read better in the right denomination; the currency guide explains the picker. And for observations that come to you instead, Insights watches the same data continuously.
